CHECK AND REPLACE ANY DAMAGED PARTS (Like the 'O' rings, boots or dust wipers) If you do not have the RST repair kit then use the parts list in order to obtain the correct parts. |
|
| Adjust travel if required. (Comp
/ Zeta EL only).
Lightly apply grease between both of the 'O' rings on the air valve (s).
Lightly apply grease to all the other parts of the compression rod. |
|
| Insert the compression rods back in to stanchions and
refit 'C' clips using snap
ring pliers.
Ensure secure fitting of these clips. |
|
| Replace the stack of springs or MCU's (x2) and tighten using an RST adjuster wrench turning clockwise by hand. | |
| Apply grease to
the inside of the outer legs ensuring coverage
of the bushings (x4) and dust
wipers (x2).
Carefully insert the outer legs back on to the stanchions. Be careful not to damage the dust wipers. Re fit boots over the dust wipers. |
|
| Replace the
drop
out bolts (x2) and tighten using a 4mm hex wrench.
NOTE: Torque setting = 60kg/cm. |
|
| If the
drop
out bolts can not be removed
or retightened. (During steps 1-3 or 2-5). Remove the stack of springs or MCU's before inserting the optional 8mm hex wrench to hold the compression rods from inside. |
|
| Always
remember to: Check fork for correct operation before every ride and after any servicing. Keep the stanchion area clear of dirt and water as this may lead to an increased need for servicing. Never use a high-pressure hose to clean suspension forks. |
